Indian Cellular Association (ICA) under the leadership of president Mr. Pankaj Mohindroo & C-ESDM organized workshop Inflexion point in Mobile Phone Manufacturing – PCB Population from 2018 – Are we ready? sponsored by NMTronics India Pvt. Ltd. (the Leading PCB Assembly Process Equipment Supplier of India) was organized on 26th October at Hotel The Lalit, New Delhi. The workshop drew a huge response from all the leading mobile brand/manufacturers along with the EMS companies of India and raised big hopes for the investment and employment opportunities in very near future.
The attendees reviewed the preparedness of the future of mobile phone industry of India and opined on the capability of the Indian Manufacturers to face the emerging requirement of “Populated PCB’ which is a big challenge, as of now. The event was attended by Union Govt. representatives Dr. Ajay Kumar (Additional Secretary -MeitY), Mr. Sanjay Rakesh (Joint Secretary-Electronics, MeitY), Mr. Ajay Sawhney (Secretary, Meity) and opinion leaders with Indian Mobile Phone Manufacturing Companies. All Supporting views and opinions were tabled by the attendees for discussion and comments. This kind of workshops shall be immensely helpful in providing inputs to the government in framing policies and schemes to support Indian Industry to grow as well as remain competitive.
Mr. Soni Saran Singh, (Executive Director, NMTronics India Pvt. Ltd.) presented the snap shot of current PCB assembly industry in India. He outlined the current market size and future requirement of fast growing industry of mobile phone handset manufacturing industry. He also shared the vision of Smart Factory Solution to achieve the objective of cost competitive manufacturing of electronics in India including mobile handset manufacturing in India. Mr. Soni also conveyed sincere thanks to ICA for bestowing them with the opportunity to host this important first-time event of cellular industry, where all stakeholders were at one platform to discuss with respect to critical issues, interests and concerns of mobile phone manufacturing industry.
