Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology (JCET), the largest China-based provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT), has named a former Amkor Technology executive as company CEO.

The new CEO, Choon Heung Lee, was previously VP of advanced packaging for Lam Research. Prior to joining Lam, Lee served as chief technology officer for Amkor. Lee held a number of senior management positions, including EVP of worldwide manufacturing and president of Amkor Korea at the US-based vendor, which he joined in 1996.

Wang Xinchao has resigned as JCET CEO, but remains the company’s chairman.

Financial support from China’s National Semiconductor Industry Investment Fund (aka the Big Fund) assisted JCET in acquiring Singapore-based STATS ChipPac in 2015. JCET is now the world’s third-largest OSAT, trailing only ASE Technology Holding and Amkor.
